Hey everyone, Luke here. I am going to tell you about what you should do to be daring this 4th of July with your sweetie!
Show her you care and step outside the box.
Did you know if July 4th falls on a Saturday it’s observed on a Friday? And if this federal holiday lands on a Sunday it’s observed on a Monday? Good to know for your plans of romance! This America celebration is meant for family barbecues and fireworks, reminiscing the past and getting excited about the future. Good traditional festivities that pay tribute to the great country you live in.
Use the 4th of July as an excuse to get romantic with your sweetheart. It really doesn’t matter if you’ve only been dating a few weeks, you’re newly engaged, or you’re a veteran couple. The 4th of July is deemed a day of celebration and this year you’re going to toss in some surprise and a little romance to celebrate your love.
Psychology Today experts report romance is one of the most fun but least executed aspects in a relationship. That’s a scary thought.
Don’t worry, I’m going to help you celebrate with a twist of romanticism! So sit back, open your mind, and let’s get started!
Romantic Move #1 – The Picnic
This one may sound a tad cliché but grabbing a blanket, nice bottle of wine, an American flag, some fresh fruit, crackers and cheese, and some brownies or cookies, is a fabulously romantic move to commemorate the holiday.
Maybe you want to raise the stakes a little by blindfolding her on route. And hopefully you’ll find a special spot to feast on each other. YUM!
Romantic Move #2 – Master Baker!
Another ultra-smooth move is surprising her by baking a cake or cupcakes! This is even better if your gal has a sweet tooth. If you can whip it up from scratch you’re my hero. And surely you can successfully follow a Betty Crocker boxed package if the “from scratch” is a scratch.
Pre-heat the oven, add eggs, milk and oil to the mix, beat and pour into the greased baking pan and bake. That should be it! Just promise me you will follow the instructions just in case they’re a little different. Ice the cake and you get brownie points!
Romantic Move #3 – Camp out
Plan a little romantic getaway somewhere near the water with your tent and a few essentials. Just don’t forget the bug spray, lighter, wine, blanket, and fireworks. The rest really doesn’t matter for one night.
Take a little time to spend some quality time together that she’s going to remember. Cosmo experts give you a little more direction but I’m going to leave the rest up to you!
Romantic Move #4 – Sparkler Simple
If you happen to be a man of action working on your romance skills, what sweeter way to make your better half smile than to write your names in the air with sparklers? Romancestruck.com says this is an easy yet irresistible way to show her you care without spending an arm and a leg.
Make sure you splurge on a variety of sizes and don’t just cheap out with the small sparklers. They only last a few seconds. If you’re going to pull this one off you are wise-owl smart to search around for the longest ones money can buy. Bigger is better.
Romantic Move #5 – Patriotic Flowers Rock!
This is such a romantically cool idea! Surprise your sweetie with a huge bouquet of red, white and blue roses. I don’t know any girl that doesn’t like flowers. But getting them in the spirit of the holiday ups the romance to dangerous delicious levels.
Romantic Move #6 – Take Your Fireworks Into The Bedroom
There are no rules saying you can continue the holiday fun after the daily festivities are over. In fact you can even skip out early if you’ve had a long day. Set the room up with massage oils, candles, and maybe a few toys. And don’t forget the ice cubes and feathers. Take turns paying close attention to each other in celebratory fashion.
Romantic Move #7 – Skip The Party And Go Skinny Dipping
This one might take a little bit of planning but if you are looking to showcase your crazy romantic side you should grab your significant other and test your nerves in a neighbor’s pool. The permission part is up to you. Make sure you each have your American flag with you to keep this spicy romance move patriotic. Talk about fun!
Romantic Move #8 – Escape For The Weekend
This one requires a little more planning and money. Book a weekend getaway so you two lovebirds can celebrate the holidays with each other’s undivided attention. Find a B&B (bed and breakfast) and make sure you visit before the surprise trip to set the room up special. She will fall head over heels in love with you all over again. Promise.
Romantic Move #9 – Watch A Classic Romance Flick
You can always get romantic indoors with your girlfriend by watching the best of the best romance films of the year all snuggled up on the couch together. You can make it a one shot deal or a movie marathon weekend. I’ll leave that factor up to you.
Romantic Move #10 – Take In An Outdoor Concert
Romance doesn’t always have to be in seclusion. Take your partner to an awesome concert with your blanket and bubbly and take in the magic. This is bound to stir up the romance you can take care of a little later.
Romantic Move #11 – Write Her A Love Poem
If you want her heart to melt write her a poem or sing her a song. And remember it’s the thought that counts. You don’t have to be a poet or a superstar singer to sweep her off her feet this 4th of July holiday.
Chances are you’ve been to oodles of 4th of July celebrations. It’s time for you to get creatively thoughtful and play your romance card like never before. Use the above ideas to brainstorm how you can blow your partner away with romance this 4th of July. Do your homework and I promise it will be well worth your while! (Wink-wink-smile)
